Fracture Care

Fractures can occur in all phases of life. Whether you are six years old and you fall off the monkey bars at the playground or you are eighty-six years old and slip and fall at home, fractures are never welcome and always a little frightening. When you break a bone, often you’re treated at the emergency room. Even if your injury isn’t life threatening, you will still need an appointment to be evaluated and treated. Simple fractures may only require an orthopedic cast or a brace and routine follow-up care. More serious orthopedic injuries often require both immediate care and follow-up surgeries. Treatment may involve the placement of internal plates, screws and rods to help keep a patient’s bones aligned in the correct position while the body heals. Drs. Lahey and Dr. Vinton are highly skilled at both simple and complex fracture care and will get you on the road to recovery.
